Annette Carolina Scipio

Mrs. Annette Carolina Scipio, 67 of Darlington peacefully transitioned Saturday, September 18, 2021.

The family will receive friends at 2420 N. Governor Williams Hwy. Darlington South Carolina.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021, on the lawn of Sherman L. Barno Funeral Directors. 704 Washington St. Darlington SC.

Annette C. Scipio the daughter of the late Preston Sawyer and Mary Alice Carolina was born on October 11, 1953, in Darlington, S.C.  “Annette” was educated in the public schools of Darlington County and attended Mayo High School, Class of 1972.

Annette had the heart of a lion; bold, courageous, & fearless. She loved her family tremendously, and truly honored the strong sense of family values instilled into her by her grandparents; Family First. Cooking elaborate dinners, interior design, Antiques, and creating beautiful floral arrangements were just a few of Annette's deepest passions.  Most importantly, she possessed an immense love of God and deeply cherished her family.

Annette fought a good fight.  On Saturday, September 18, 2021, God gave her rest.  

Annette was preceded in death by her parents who raised her. She is survived by her husband Benjamin Scipio, children; Jamie E. Ratliff (Cadedra), Dedric M. Scipio, Tiffney L. Ratliff, and Tabitha Scipio Gillespie (Eric), four siblings; Mary Linda Carolina, Angela Samuel-Jones (Eugene), Lorie Samuel, Pamela Samuel-Hughes (Clinton), Cathy Hill, Patricia Bryant, Michael Sawyer, Clark Sawyer, and Steven Sawyer. Eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
