Mr. Ricky "Rick The Ruler" Thomas of Darlington peacefully transitioned on November 21, 2021. 

The family will receive friends at 429 Cedar Ridge Road, Darlington SC.  

Celebration of life for Mr. Thomas will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2021 on the lawn of Mt. Rona Baptist Church, 245 Lumber Road, Society Hill, S.C. 29593 interment will follow in the church cemetery. 

Public viewing will be Friday, November 26, 2021 at the funeral home from 12:00 noon - 6:00 p.m.

Ricky Lee Thomas also knows as “Rick The Ruler” was born September 18, 1968 a son to the late Robert Lee Thomas and Rebecca Dixon Thomas. On November 21, 2021, Rick entered into eternal rest at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence South Carolina.

At an early age he was Baptist and joined Mt. Rona Baptist Church.

Rick was a graduate of St. John’s High School Class of 1986.  After high school, he later enlisted in the United States Navy where he was honorable discharged.

“Rick The Ruler” was a pitcher for various softball teams over the years in the Carolina Softball League until he retired.   

Rick was employed with Georgia Pacific until his health decline.  He was united in holy matrimony to April McCurry.

Rick leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife of two years April McCurry Thomas of the home; his children Rikki Thomas & James Thomas of the home; Aquarius Brown, Sy’Nia Kirkland both of Darlington, Step-children Da’quan McCurry, Je’Mar Mullins, Shameyer Mullins. One Godson, Andre’ Hooks Jr of Darlington. Three sisters; Lisa Thomas of Miami, Florida, Cornelia Thomas of Timmonsville SC and Belinda Thomas of Darlington. Two Brothers; Kenny Thomas of Virginia and David Thomas of Darlington. Two God-Sisters Jennifer (Andre’) Hooks & Tina Tedder. Three grandchildren: Ava, Trinity & King. Three Sisters-in-law; Latasha McCurry (Edward) Samuel, Linda (Clifford)McCoy. Kathleen (JC) Campbell; Two Brothers-in-law; Reginald McCurry, Herbert McCurry; Five Aunts; Martha(Noah)Johnson, Irene Dixon Terry, Diane (James) Brown, Hazel Walker, Queenie (Samuel) Lyons. Seven Uncles; Arthur Dixon, Raymond (Thomasina) Dixon, Ralph (Deloris) Dixon, Larry (Janice) Dixon, Wendell (Lillian) Dixon, Edgar (Leona) Thomas, Dennis (Mable) Thomas. Special Friends; Archie McCall, Mike Dixon, Shawn Tedder & Glenn Tedder. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Robert & Rebecca Thomas; his maternal grandparents; Waymon & Eva Mae Ross Dixon; paternal grandparents, Arthur & Bessie London Thomas. Uncle Franklin Thomas and Aunt Barbara Ann Dixon.
