Reflections of Life
The clock of death has once again chimed for the Gamble family and quietly embraced another loved one. A link has been removed from the chain of Thelder Sr. and Lena’s children, but the love and memories will last an eternity.
On Friday, July 9, 2021, Thelder Gamble Jr. lovingly known as “Jr,” the eldest son of Lena and Thelder Gamble Sr. mounted up with wings as eagles and went home peacefully to be with his Heavenly Father.
Thelder Jr. was educated in the Florence County Public School System. He was a 1970 graduate of Carver High School . He enlisted into the United States Army and did 2 tours of duty in Germany as a skilled marksman. He was employed as a Supervisor with Wellman Industries for 16 years.
At an early age he accepted our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as his savior. He was a member of The Historic Greater St. James AME Church . He was also a member of the Boy Scouts Troop 113. “Jr” was known as an expert fisherman and hunter.
He had five siblings: Jerrle (Gwen) Gamble of Scranton, SC, Coy Gamble of Lake City, SC, Christopher Barr of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Lawrence and Beverly Ann Gamble who preceded him in death.
Thelder Jr. along with Rebecca Gamble, gave birth to three children, Thelder Gamble III , Regina Gamble, and Terrell Gamble all of Lake City, SC.
He was blessed to have four grandchildren: Jahonnah, Skyler, Amir, and Tristan, four godchildren: Beverly Madden, Charles Wilson, Shera Singletary, and Tonia Wallace.
Thelder Jr. had one uncle, Samuel Davis of Claussen, SC, five nieces and nephews, Tracie Gamble, Beverly (David) Madden, Antwan Croker, Jerilyn (Devern) Coleman, and Terrain Fulmore, godbrother, Vincent Lee and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends including Rev.
