Mrs. Julia March Thomas Obituary

Mrs. Julia  March Thomas peacefully transitioned Saturday, November 20, 2021, in Baltimore, Maryland.

Celebration of life will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Lawson Grove Baptist Church, 3585 Lawson Grove Road, Hartsville, S.C. 29550  interment will follow in the church cemetery. 

Public viewing will be Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the funeral home from 12:00 noon - 6:00 p.m. 

The family will receive friends at  2720 Sumter St. Extension, Florence SC.

Ms. Julia Mae March Thomas was born August 23, 1942, in Darlington S.C to the late Mr. Hanison March Sr. and Sadie Mae Williams March. She entered her final resting place Saturday afternoon, November 20, 2021, in Baltimore Maryland after a sudden illness.

She received her formal education in the Darlington County School system before moving to Baltimore Maryland in the early 1960s.

She was a faithful member of The Promise Land Church Ministries. Pastor Glendon Terry, where she and her immediate family served. Julia was a dedicated employee at the Hilton Hotel for over 40 years. She received an outstanding service award for being the longest working employee. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, cooking, gardening, watching The Baltimore Ravens and The Washington Wizards, and going to church. She was known for her comedic personality and her favorite saying was "I'm going to live until I die"!

In addition to her parents, one child preceded her in death, Arthur Jerome Hart; two sisters, Ruby J. March and Maebell McCoy; two brothers, Hanison March Jr. and Jerry C. March.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Loretta (James) Bonaparte, Phyllistine (Jimmy) Williams of Darlington S.C, Patricia Thomas Herbert of Florence S.C; one son, Stevie (Trina) Thomas of Baltimore MD; two sisters, Ila M.Bess and Shirey A. March; three brothers, Ervin (Shirley) March Sr., James F. March, Eugene March of Darlington S.C.

She also leaves thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and a special devoted nephew, Tommy (Georgia) March.
