Ms. Pamela Burke age 66 of Florence peacefully transitioned on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at her residence with her care giver and sister Janet Faye Williams. She was the daughter of George & Beatrice Burke of Salisbury, North Carolina. 

 The family is receiving friends at 905 Pawley Street, Florence, South Carolina

Life Reflections 

Pamela Burke, 66, of Salisbury, NC passed away June 2, 2021 in Florence, SC. 

Pam was born in Rowan County on September 2, 1954 to the late George L. Burke, Jr. and Beatrice Ward Burke. 

During her early life she attended Calvin H. Wiley School in Salisbury where she completed the program designed by the Salisbury City Schools for persons with downs syndrome. During her adult life she worked at the Rowan County Vocational Workshop. Pam was an eager participant in the Rowan County Special Olympics for many years. She lived with her parents on Shady Lane until their deaths. Pam resided with her longtime caregiver, Godsend and friend Janet Williams and family in Florence, SC who cared for her during her long decline with phenomenal dedication, love and devotion. Pam was a part of the family for 15 years. She was a happy person, the life of the party, and never met a stranger. She attended Milford Hills United Methodist Church with her father and the Christian Science Church with her mother. While in Florence, SC, she attended Shiloh United Methodist Church with Janet and her family. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 1-2PM at Summersett Funeral Home, 1315 W Innes Street
Salisbury, NC 28144.

Funeral service will be held at 2PM in the Summersett Memorial Chapel with Dr. Rev. Mark Conforti officiating. Entombment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park Mausoleum.
