Ms. Rosella Holloway Smith

Ms. Rosella Smith of Darlington peacefully transitioned Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at McLeod Regional Medical Center.

The family will be receiving friends at 202 C. Ave., Darlington, S.C. 29532.

Celebration of life for Ms. Smith will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Grace Temple Apostolic Church, 598 W. Broad St., Darlington, S.C. 29532, interment will follow at Faith Memorial Gardens, Rogers Rd., Darlington, S.C. 29532

Public viewing will be 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at the funeral home.

Life Reflections

Rosella was born December 31, 1941, in Darlington, SC to the late Gilmore and Annie Harry Holloway. Rosella departed this earthly life on March 15, 2023, after an illness.

Rosella attended Darlington County Public Schools.  She grew up in the Mechanicville community and was a faithful member of New Providence Baptist Church and in 2021 she rededicated her life back to Christ.

Rosella was employed as a cook at Darlington Restaurant. Upon moving to New York, she gained employment in the health industry as a Nurse Assistant, she was a dedicated worker who loved her work.

Rosella was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mary Holloway Williams; six brothers, Nathaniel Holloway, Smiley Harry, Robert Holloway, Herbert Holloway, Gus Holloway, and Jim Wingate.

Those who shared the joys of Rosella’s life and survive to cherish her memory are one son, Frankie Lee Holloway of Darlington, SC; two sisters, Louise (Elouise) Hunter and Annie (Stella) Lou Brown (Randy Wilson) of Darlington; two brothers,  Jessie  Holloway of  Florence,  SC, and  Louis Holloway;  one  Sister-in-Law,  Christine  Holloway of Darlington, SC; two grand-daughters, Tameka Samuel of Florence, SC and Joyce Samuel of Darlington, SC; ten great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
